The Boston Globe recently reported that three individuals died last year from heart inflammation due to undiagnosed Lyme disease.
Lyme disease can permanently change a person’s health, though only about 1% of Lyme infections are believed to produce severe heart inflammation. This condition is treatable by antibiotics, when detected early.
