Yasmin settlements reach more than $402 million

According to a Bloomberg report, Bayer has said that settlements of U.S. lawsuits over its Yasmin line of birth control pills have reached more than $402 million.

Scientists developing miniature robot to treat clots

A report in the Sydney Morning Herald says scientists in Australia are developing a miniature robot called the Neuroglide that would be able to navigate through the arteries of the human brain and remove life-threatening blood clots in stroke victims.

Therapist: Pitcher lucky blood clot diagnosed early

In a piece for the Huffington Post, sports physical therapist Abby Sims writes that Dillon Gee of the New York Mets was fortunate that a timely examination revealed the presence of a blood clot in his pitching shoulder.
