Jury Finds for Johnson & Johnson in Pinnacle Hip Implant Case

In a blow to plaintiffs in the Pinnacle hip litigation, Johnson & Johnson has successfully defended the first trial over its Pinnacle hip implant. Bloomberg recently reported on the defense verdict in the first Pinnacle hip trial.

$2.5 billion J&J hip settlement announced

Johnson & Johnson recently announced a $2.47 billion hip settlement through its DePuy subsidiary.

DePuy’s Articular Surface Replacement (ASR) hip implant was recalled in 2010. Now, an estimated 8,000 lawsuits are being filed over the device. The $2.47 billion settlement announced by J&J is likely to settle a large portion–though not all–of the pending cases.
