Lopez McHugh’s Marilyn Wass Speaks with Legal Talk Network

Lopez McHugh Senior Paralegal Marilyn Wass spoke with Legal Talk Network’s Vicki Voisin during a recent segment of Paralegal Voice. As Voisin describes, “being a senior paralegal for a firm like Lopez McHugh is one of the most prestigious positions in the paralegal world.” The two used the time to discuss Wass’ beginnings and the progression of her career, the challenges she faces in her day-to-day work, and the technological and other tools used at Lopez McHugh to help her manage her workload.

Ms. Wass’ story is truly one of working your way to the top. Beginning her legal career with a temp job, she worked her way to a BA from UCLA and, later, a Paralegal Certificate with honors. She would go on to be designated a Certified Paralegal as well as earning the California Advanced Specialist designation in civil litigation.

Ms. Wass is extremely well regarded by her peers and is a leader in her field. She has held countless committee and board positions throughout her career as well as having served as the Ethics Chair for the National Association of Legal Assistants. In 2000 she was awarded the Los Angeles Paralegal Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award as well as being a co-recipient of the Five Star Paralegal of the Year award.

Having an asset like Marilyn on staff is just one part of what elevates Lopez McHugh above other firms in our practice areas. We celebrate her countless achievements and are proud to have her share her knowledge with the legal community. Whether you are considering working in this rewarding field or looking to take the next step in your paralegal career, we invite you to share in Marilyn’s wisdom and listen in on her interview or download the podcast on iTunes.
